Crumpled wire netting held these Muscari {OrapeHyacinths) and Primroses in place for this "all-round" design. The blue and yellow colours wereeffective in the basket-shaped pottery container.
Here is the method for building up a large arrangement of flowers from the florists.{Fig.1) Place a pin holder underneath crumpled wire netting which fills the vase and istied down with a piece of string or fine wire to avoid it slipping about. (Fig. 2) Showsthe shape of the design being fixed with tall sprays of Pussy Willow. Note how all thestems spring from the central point. (Fig. 3) The straightest flowers are placed in thecentre at different levels whilst any curved flowers are best inserted at the sides and front.{Fig. 4) Shorter double Tulips are placed low directly underneath the main line. Theirinterest is strengthened by the addition of green tulip leaves, some of which are doubled over.
